For #GivingTuesday we asked that you to help us build a future where all Philadelphians benefit from a safe and healthy pedestrian environment.

Feet First Philly is Philadelphia’s only pedestrian advocacy group that fights to protect the rights of pedestrians, improve the pedestrian environment, and promote walking as a mode of transportation, recreation, and exercise.

Our Giving Tuesday fundraising goal was to raise $2,000 to support one additional community group through our 2021-2022 public space enhancement mini-grant., and though we didn’t get there on Giving Tuesday, you can still donate and help us enhance even more public spaces in Philadelphia.

In September 2020, we launched our first public enhancement mini-grant program and awarded seven community groups with grants ranging from $500 to $2000. This year, we had over 60 applicants with projects that would make walking safer and expand public space in their neighborhoods through crosswalk installations, improved sidewalks, cooling stations, trash clean-ups, public art, and programming activities. We need your help so we can support more of these amazing public space improvements.

In Philadelphia, neighborhoods with a high proportion of residents on low-incomes or people of color have actively been disinvested in, leading to higher rates of traffic violence and more miles of missing and damaged sidewalks, greatly reducing the walkability of these communities. By donating to Feet First Philly, you will help us to fund more public space improvement projects, which prioritize these communities, including immigrant populations, people of color, and people with disabilities. Help us support building walkable, safe, and healthy neighborhoods for all Philadelphians.

Help us reach our goal with your donation today!
