August 1st kicked off application season for the 6th round of Feet First Philly’s Public Space Enhancement Mini-Grant program! Last year’s 5th round awarded 11 grants to projects across Philadelphia, all aimed at improving public spaces for different communities. Three projects are highlighted in this GRID article, Empowered CDC’s improvements to the Cecil Street Garden, SEAMACC’s tree planting on the 7th St. Corridor, and ACHIEVEability’s Impact Day in April. Read the full article and more about these amazing projects here.
Applications for the 6th round are open until October 1st, and FFP is hosting an informational webinar on August 20th for those interested in learning more about the program.
Feet First Philly is a pedestrian advocacy project of the Clean Air Council, and partners with the Philadelphia Department of Public Health to provide funding for projects to improve public spaces, particularly in underserved communities. Mini-grants between $500 and $2,000 are awarded to address the financial and technical barriers that organizations face when creating or improving public spaces.
Funding can be used to support public space projects, including construction materials, educational materials, event costs, insurance, stipends, staff time, or other needs. You can download the Request For Proposal (RFP) here.
