Feet First Philly has three volunteer subcommittees that focus on different areas related to our mission. The Policy and Planning, Communications, and Events subcommittees are open to anyone, and meet regularly.

Feet First Philly’s Policy Subcommittee promotes and advocates for pedestrian oriented policies and planning citywide. Recent work includes helping to draft the Recovery Streets platform and campaigning for better sidewalk infrastructure including hiring dedicated city staff to lead a sidewalk repair and replace program.

The Communications Subcommittee assists with developing and supporting Feet First Philly’s comprehensive communications strategy, as well as and creating and maintaining content for various communications tools, and executing public engagement and media campaigns related to pedestrian safety.

The Events Subcommittee focuses on organizing and promoting Feet First Philly monthly walks. The subcommittee has recently shifted towards virtual walks and pedestrian oriented webinars during the pandemic.
