Learn about Feet First Philly, Philadelphia’s pedestrian advocacy group, and PARC, Passyunk Avenue Revitalization Corporation, through a walk exploring East Passyunk Avenue in South Philadelphia. Join Jennifer Dougherty, Chair of Feet First Philly and PARC board member, and Alex Balloon, Executive Director of PARC on a short stroll up the “Avenue”.

On the walk we’ll talk about pedestrian and public realm improvements PARC has made, the ins and outs of streeteries politics, Feet First Philly’s mission, and how you can improve walkability and pedestrian safety where you live.

You’ll learn about how to report issues, what agencies are responsible for enforcement and improvements, what a walk audit is and how one is conducted, and how to effectively advocate for pedestrian improvements.

Walk Notes

  • Walk will end at East Passyunk Avenue and Dickinson Street, at The POPE for those interested in continuing the conversation over refreshments
  • Walk duration: approximately 1 hour
  • Accessibility considerations: Busy sidewalks. Fully accessible, all abilities walk/roll, there will be breaks and seating.
