#NotaParkingSpot Walk Audit

W Porter and S 17th Street Walk Audit

Feet First Philly conducted a walk audit in South Philly to capture the harmful effects of illegal parking as part of our #NotaParkingSpot campaign. We were joined by Girard Estates Neighborhood Association and Committee Person 26-12, John Zimmerman, to collect data on just how dangerous an intersection can be when illegally parked cars block crosswalks and sidewalks, as well as block visibility for drivers.

As of July 10, 2019, W Porter Street in South Philly was reported for illegal parking 56 times since November 2017. In fact, many of these occurred in just a 5 block area. Check out this video done by John Zimmerman that highlights why illegal parking is a pedestrian safety issue!
