Few things are more frustrating than a fresh paved street with a broken sidewalk running along it. Sadly, Philadelphia puts the burden of costly sidewalk repairs on property owners who often can’t afford to have the work done, and absentee landlords who rent their property out with little or no involvement in sidewalk maintenance.
Feet First Philly supports using city funds to repair sidewalks the same way the city repairs streets. It’s time pedestrian infrastructure was funded the same way we fund streets, so we want to see your pics of streets where the road is new, but the sidewalk is old. We are collecting them and will reshare them on social media to draw awareness to this safety issue.
Send your pictures to feetfirstphilly@cleanair.org or tag us on social media with the location.
